Total PSLE score: (best 4, lowest 32)
How the AL bands work
Each subject's mark falls into a fixed band set by SEAB. The bands do not move with the cohort, so a mark of 91 is AL 1 whatever everyone else scores. The four subject ALs are added together to give the PSLE score.
| Achievement Level | Raw mark |
|---|---|
| AL 1 | 90 to 100 |
| AL 2 | 85 to 89 |
| AL 3 | 80 to 84 |
| AL 4 | 75 to 79 |
| AL 5 | 65 to 74 |
| AL 6 | 45 to 64 |
| AL 7 | 20 to 44 |
| AL 8 | below 20 |
Foundation subjects
Foundation subjects are graded AL A to C, and each converts to a standard AL for the posting score.
| Foundation grade | Raw mark | Counts as |
|---|---|---|
| Foundation AL A | 75 to 100 | counts as AL 6 |
| Foundation AL B | 30 to 74 | counts as AL 7 |
| Foundation AL C | below 30 | counts as AL 8 |
What this calculator does not do
It does not predict secondary school cut-off points. Those are set after each cohort's results and are published by MOE, so any figure quoted here would be out of date within a year. Use it for the arithmetic, and check MOE for posting information.
