- Explain how capital and share capital are accounted for using the relevant accounting theories
Scope: Relevant theory: accounting entity - Compute share capital
Scope: Based on unit issue price and quantity of fully paid ordinary shares issued - Write the journal entries for capital contributed and for share capital
Scope: Capital may be contributed in cash or in kind - Draw up the capital and share capital ledger accounts
- Read the capital and share capital ledger accounts
- Examine movements in owner's and shareholders' equity and pin down why they occurred
- Produce a Statement of Financial Position extract showing the sole proprietor's stake and the shareholders' stakes in a private limited company
